We live in a pretty messed up world. The only news we hear about is tragic. I know there are people and organisations actually helping improve the world, and I count it a blessing to work for one of them. My undergrad education at Westmont and current program at Fuller Seminary have enabled me to see the world through God’s eyes. My travels have taken me to 40 countries, and I have seen my fair share of desperation, hopelessness, poverty, oppression, injustice. Thankfully, the stories and experiences I have shared with people leave me with the belief that we can change the world because good people live here. Children can still manage to smile despite their circumstances. Women continue to perservere despite all the inequality and challenges they face. The examples of courageous men, women, and children inspire me to continue working with them and on their behalf. The poor and oppressed are just like me. We have the same dreams and desires, I was just born into a life of privilege in the US while they were not afforded the same opportunities. It’s my life’s work and passion to correct that as much as I can.
There is more about me than my work though. I have a beautiful wife who is involved in restoring women’s identities and helping them, and me, understand that God accepts us and loves us. I love soccer (I know it’s football everywhere else in the world), and traveling, and nature. Why did I move to LA if I loved nature is a great question.
