One of my great fortunes in life was growing up for several of my childhood years in Saudi Arabia where my father was pastor to expats, which embedded my love for the Middle East. After college (BA/Economics, Univerity of Washington) I served as a lecturer teaching English and Economics at a university in Korea before marrying Sandra in 1981; together we did seminary studies at Fuller and Oxford. I was ordained as a PCUSA pastor in 1985 and had pastoral calls as mission pastor in two large churches before shifting in 1993 to 12 years of work with Presbyterian Frontier Fellowship assisting Presbyterian mission work among UPGs. In 2003 I was on the founding board of visionSynergy with Phill Butler and in 2005 shifted from board work to associate director of visionSynergy. My wife Sandy is also a Presbyterian pastor and we live in the Seattle, WA area.
