We live in a unique and exciting time in the history of the world–when information can be accessed at any time, when we can instantly connect with each other, when we have more knowledge about our communities and their conditions than ever before. We also live in a unique and exciting time in the history of the Body of Christ–when its parts, under the headship of Christ, can be brought together in ways never before imagined, when its wisdom and experience, grounded in Scripture, can be shared and sorted in order to grow, and when its passions and resources, given by God, can be harnessed and channeled in magnitudes never seen. Simply put, the potential that exists NOW within the Body of Christ to impact our communities, both local and global, is unlike any other time the world has ever seen. World Wide Open is a tool to help CONNECT and EMPOWER the Body of Christ to make an IMPACT, anytime, anywhere.
World Wide Open has three goals:
CONNECT - To promote Greater connectivity between individuals, churches and non-profits seeking to make an impact in local and global communities
EMPOWER - To enable the Body of Christ to collaboratively share and build knowledge and expertise around important biblical and social issues
IMPACT - To advance a more effective outpouring of Christian service by matching available resources with identified needs for a greater level of impact
World Wide Open is a free, not-for-profit, online tool that helps connect and empower Christians, churches and non-profit organizations to make an impact, anytime, anywhere. World Wide Open has been developed for three separate but interconnected categories of users: People, Churches, and nonprofit organizations. All three users will create a free account on the site and be able to interact around three ideas: Connect. Empower. Impact.
We hope World Wide Open can play its part in enabling Christians to transform the world. It will be a transformation marked by the connected and empowered Body of Christ, under the headship of Jesus and grounded in scripture, reaching outside its man-made walls and divides, and harnessing its God-given passions and resources, in magnitudes never seen.
